Dr Ron Abrahams

Dr Ron, the founding physician of Hycroft,  is proud to slowly but surely be handing over the " reins" to a wonderful group of physicians after a career of advocating and championing for his patients from all walks of life.

How retirement will look is a project in progress.

Dr Kate Bodkin

Kate (she/her) is from London, Ontario but fell in love with the mountains after a summer spent working at an Easter Seals camp in the Rockies. She trained in the St Paul’s Hospital residency program and has a full spectrum family practice at Hycroft Medical Clinic with a special interest in prenatal care, mental health and substance use. She strives to create an LGBTQ+ positive space and welcomes all definitions of family in her office.

When not in the office, Kate delivers babies and covers the inpatient perinatal substance use ward at BC Women's Hospital, and works at Sheway Maternity Clinic, a specialized clinic that cares for pregnant people who use substances and their young families. She also provides locum coverage in the most northern hospital in Canada in Inuvik, NWT.

In her free time, she spends as much time outside with her two young children- hiking, biking, snowboarding and camping and feels very grateful to work and play on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Dr Eric Cattoni

Eric (he/him) hails from Lethbridge, AB, and did his medical training and residency in Edmonton. While he grew up in Lethbridge, he spent most of his university career in the United States (Idaho and California), while also pursuing baseball. Eric decided to return to Canada to pursue his medical training at the University of Alberta.

During his training in Edmonton, Eric took an interest in maternity care, as well as addiction medicine, and formerly integrated both into his training. He spent much time out in Vancouver on elective, training under Dr. Ron Abrahams. During his time in Vancouver, he had found where he wanted to start his career in Family Medicine.

Eric also is the academic lead at FIR Square, a perinatal addictions unit at BC Women’s Hospital that supports substance-using mothers and their babies. In addition, he works at Sheway maternity clinic, working with substance-using mothers and their babies on an outpatient basis.

Dr Letty Condon

Dr. Letty Condon (she/her) moved to Vancouver with her family, having lived in the U.K. for most of her life. She studied medicine at The University of Sheffield and trained in general practice in the south of England. During her training, Letty took a specialist interest in palliative and supportive care and cared for patients at home and in a hospice setting. More recently, she has developed an interest in substance use medicine. Letty has an interest in human rights and patient advocacy. She also enjoys gardening and her skills in this area are in the emerging phase.

Dr Gabriella Glattstein-Young

Dr. Gabi Glattstein-Young was born in Vancouver but grew up in sunny Osoyoos on Okanagan territory. After completing post-graduate studies overseas, she returned to Canada for medical school and to complete her residency in UBC’s Indigenous Family Medicine program. She practices full scope family medicine in Vancouver with a special focus on Indigenous health, addictions, and maternity care. Dr. Glattstein-Young continues to find wonder in each new birth and feels such honour to be a part of the journey into parenthood.

When her two young sons are not destroying her home, you can find her chasing after these rugrats at the park /pool or trying to find a moment of solace in her call room.

Dr Stephanie Hughes

Steph (She/Her) is originally from Ontario, and completed her medical school at the University of Toronto prior to training in Family Medicine at McMaster University. She headed to Vancouver immediately after training to take advantage of the typical west coast cliches- hiking, backcountry camping, and snowboarding. Steph shares a general and low-risk maternity practice with Dr. Kate Bodkin, and also practices addictions medicine in both the community and at BC Women’s Hospital. Outside of medicine, she is dipping her toe into split-boarding, sailing, and making mediocre pottery.

Dr Emily Ower

Emily (They/She) grew up in southern Ontario, but they have been steadily moving west over the years, completing their medical school at the University of Calgary and then their residency through the UBC Indigenous Family Medicine Program on the beautiful traditional and unceded territories of the Musquem, Squamish, and Tseil-Watuth nations here in Vancouver.

At Hycroft Medical Clinic, they have a special focus on low risk obstetrical care, adolescent medicine, 2SLGBTQIA health, and gender affirming care. They also work at Sheway clinic in the Downtown Eastside, which provides care for parents and families with substance use during their pregnancies.

In their free time, they love running on the beach, curling up with a good book, and spending time in the mountains, hiking or skiing depending on the season.

Dr Beth Joffe

Beth graduated medicine from University of Toronto in 1991 and arrived in Vancouver for what she thought would be a temporary stay to complete her family practice residency at UBC. Over 30 years later, she has experienced the joy of growing a family practice in the Hycroft Medical Clinic. Her diverse office based primary care practice has included obstetrics and deliveries, consulting to VGH’s sexual assault service and providing outreach in the downtown eastside with Vancouver Coastal’s Older Adult Mental Health Team. She enjoys traveling, the arts, cooking and taking in all of the offerings of BC’s natural playground.

Dr Carolyn Pasko

Carolyn is a locum (substitute) family doctor at Hycroft. She is originally from Ottawa and did all of her medical training at Queen’s in Kingston. She spent some time practicing in Cambridge before escaping Ontario winters to move to BC in 2018. Since then, she has worked in a number of Vancouver clinics, but keeps coming back to Hycroft because it has the nicest people! She loves to cook and bake, travel, and spend time in nature whenever she can.
